*A Candlelight Supper at Walnut Grove Plantation: George Washington's
Inaugural Ball*

*Saturday, February 21, 2009, 6:00 pm*



Walnut Grove Plantation presents *A Candlelight Supper: George Washington's
Inauguration.*  Come enjoy an 18th Century Supper menu and live music.  The
Carolina English Country Dancers will present period dance demonstrations
and music from President George Washington's first inaugural ball.  Guests
will be invited to learn period dance.  It's a fun and romantic way to
celebrate Valentine's Day and President's Day!



The cost is $40.00 per person or $75 for two (Pay at the door: cash, check,
or Visa/Mastercard).  Reservations are required by Tuesday, February 17.  There
is also an optional pre-Supper guided tour of the Walnut Grove Plantation
Manor House, Kitchen, and Academy at 4:00 pm or 5:00 pm.  The cost is $6 per
adult and the tour takes about 50 minutes.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Please dress comfortably & warmly.  The event is in a
pavilion with a vinyl curtain enclosure, patio heaters, and a fireplace, so
it may be cool.

By Interstate 26:

Take I-26 Exit 28, Hwy 221 (SE of Spartanburg) and turn toward Roebuck &
Spartanburg.  Turn right at the first light (Waffle House, Burger King, 2
gas stations) onto Stillhouse Road.

>From Downtown Spartanburg:

Follow Hwy 221 (S Church St) through Roebuck and toward Woodruff.  Turn left
at the light (Waffle House, Burger King and 2 gas stations) onto Stillhouse
Road. (You will be almost at I-26.)

Then, For Both:

Go to the stop sign at the end of Stillhouse Road and turn right onto Otts
Shoals Road.  The Plantation is about 0.2 mile on the right.
