Walter Hill, Treasurer
Robert Walter Hill IV graduated from Coastal Carolina University with a degree in History in 2000. Mr. Hill is now Director of the Horry County Museum and in this role moved the museum into the Historic Burroughs School and built the LW Paul Living History Farm. Mr. Hill has attended many regional and state museum association conferences to further his training in the museum field. In 2008, he attended the eight-day comprehensive Jekyl Island Museum Management Institute from the Southeastern Museums Conference. Walter has served on the SCFM Professional Development Committee. He serves on the Board of the Confederation of South Carolina Local Historical Societies, Conway Chamber of Commerce Board, the Academy of Technology and Arts Board and he has represented District 7 at Museum Advocacy Day 2016. He also teaches local history through the Coastal Carolina University OLLI Program. In 2010, Walter was named Alumnus of the Year for the Edwards College of Humanities and Fine Arts by Coastal Carolina University. Walter lives in Plantersville, where he grew up, with his wife Adrienne and children Robert and Kate.
